About the Department

B.Sc., Microbiology course was started during academic year 2013 in this Periyar Arts College after the withdrawal of Pre University course by the Government with due introduction of 10+2 higher secondary school education. Thus the UG course in Microbiology is established.

Vision

Our vision is to be a progressive Department that serves as a Centre for Microbiological Science.

We have all the basic Microbiological instruments and provide a platform for hands on practice.

Our mission is to discover and convey Scientific knowledge about Microbiology in all the applications related to Food Microbiology, Industrial Microbiology, Medical Microbiology, Genetic Engineering, Medical coding and Biotechnology.

In the Cuddalore district we are the only one offering the Microbiology course.
