About the Department

B.Sc Botany course was started during academic year 1980 in this Periyar Arts College after the withdrawal of Pre University course by the government due introduction of 10+2 higher secondary school education. Thus the U.G course in Botany is established.

The PG course in Botany is established during . November 2011. Recently M.Phil and Ph.D. degree course are sanctioned.
