Department of Computer Science

From the academic year 1996-97, the Computer Science Department provides quality education to students of Cuddalore and other areas of the District. The goal of the Department is to provide state-of- art knowledge and skills to the students in the field of Computer science with a caring and supporting environment. The Department is currently offering one Undergraduate course (B.Sc., Computer Science) in two shifts, and one PG course, (M.Sc., Computer Science). The Department is sanctioned with M. Phil Computer science course in the academic year 2015-16. 192 students are studying in undergraduate course and 54 students are studying PG programme. Besides the regular studies, many of the students are participating in the extracurricular activities. Many Computer Science students have participated in the intercollegiate academic and cultural activities. To improve the skills of the students the Tamil Nadu Government has provided extracurricular training for the students in SOFT SKILLS with the help of ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu. The UG lab is well equipped with 52 Systems, Three nos. of 5 KVA UPS and required no. of Printers. There is a newly constructed PG lab and is in the process of up gradation. The departmental library is well equipped with required no. of textbooks and reference books. One Associate professor, four Assistant professors, six Guest lecturers and a programmer are working in the department. All faculty members of the department are actively engaged in the research in the areas like Computer networks, Software engineering, Web services, etc,. The faculty members are also attending various Conferences and Workshops. The faculty is having books journal publication.
